This thesis provides a (VSM) framework to implement Value Stream Mapping in Financial Services based on an existing methodology that is applicable to manufacturing. The main objective of this framework is to provide Financial Service providers with a tool that will support efforts to increase system productivity, service quality and customer service. Initially, there is presented an overview of Financial Services in order to highlight the fundamental differences of operations in this sector vs. operations in manufacturing. Subsequently, taking into account these differences we adapt VSM to Financial Services. The adapted methodology applied to a sample service. This application illustrates the power of VSM in improving Financial Service operations.
